Ice Festival

Hello everyone,
I spent a few days in Harbin over New Years which is is the north of China close to Russia. I met up with my flat mate Ben and his brother Charlie who was in China for a couple of weeks. At its lowest, the temperature went down to -38°C (-36°F for you oldies) while we were there which is unbelievably cold.

In winter they have the Harbin Ice Festival which is amazing, despite the cold it was something I really wanted to see while I'm here. They dig up the ice from the river which freezes in October and make it in to sculptures. We also went to a Siberian tiger reserve which is just outside Harbin. The city itself is quite nice with lots of Russian architecture.
